A Cheap Gift Given by the Mets at Shea Stadium, Video
April 13th, 2008 | by ethanator1088 |The Anatomy of a Cheap Gift Given by the Mets, Video. To fully understand what is happening let’s go through this guys day. He gets up excited for the big game. He calls his buds about plans for the trip to Shea Stadium. He plops down money for cab fair, train, subway, or maybe he is on vacation and flew to New York. He also could have plopped down money for parking, programs, drinks, popcorn, hotdogs, pizza, and maybe he forked over the cash to propose to his girlfriend on the jumbo-tron. My point is that he is $300-$1000 into this game depending on how many people he brought and if he was proposing to his girlfriend.
He sees a gathering on the pitchers mound. It is most likely the seventh inning stretch. They start to ramble off the winning ticket number. The guy gets so excited he turns on his video camera so he can cherish this moment forever. He can tell all of his friends and family that he won this great prize on the same night that he may, or may not have, proposed to his soon to be wife. He listens carefully and hears his ticket number. This must be a great prize. This is the last year the Mets will be playing in Shea Stadium. This could be a priceless relic signed by a famous baseball legend. He finds out, over the intercom, that he is the proud owner of a “2008 Mets Pocket Schedule“? Ouch! Enjoy this, Cheap Gift Given by the Mets, Video.
