Jack Buck 9-11 Poem, and links

September 11th, 2008 | by Ethan Jaynes |

I got this idea from Hugging Harold Reynolds, and Zoner Sports.

Here are the links from those 2 blogs. I am not one to copy and paste, but I have nothing better to add, and I appreciate them for finding this material.

The outstanding Bugs & Cranks republishes a moving, must-read column written by Brad Bortone. The author describes the scene–and feelings–of the first game at Shea following the tragedy of 9/11. I usually post excerpts from the stories that I provide links to, but I think you should just read it in full at the site.

Going Five Hole’s Sean Leahy tells his 9/11 story and honors those from the hockey family that were lost that day.

MLB.com has all of the special ceremonies that will happen around the league today.

Unrestricted reminds you to fly the flag.

In Game Now has a salute to all of the athletes that have served our country.

And finally, here is Zoner Sports  9/11 story.

I will end the links with the Jack Buck 9/11 Poem that HHR posted.
