The Chris Cooley Incident, a blogging note of decency
September 16th, 2008 | by Ethan Jaynes |Here I go on my soap box again. Here is the back story. Chris Cooley of the Washington Redskins made a blog post on his blog. He took a picture that accidentally showed his privates. A bunch of “Sports Blogs” are posting the picture.
Why are they doing this? Why would they post that picture? They champion him for having a blog, and then they tear him down. Mr. I is reporting that Zorn is on his case, D.C. Sports Bog is reporting that it was a total accident, and remember that he has a wife and family.
I am not for censorship, but I am for decency, and respect. Please remember that the picture will be around for eternity on the internet, but ask yourself if it should be on your site. I know we cannot take them all down. That is not the point of the post. I do not care who heeds to my request, but I would like for all of the “Sports sites/ blogs” to kindly remove the picture.
Report on the incident, but the picture has nothing to do with sports.

I swear I will not post the picture but I must know - how does one accidentally photograph their own man region?

Read the DC Sports Bog link in the article.

I can’t read, or else I would go read the article. In absence of that, I will speculate. I believe his brother takes care of the site. My guess is Cooley took the picture in a rush and gave it to his brother to put up, and his brother didn’t really look at the photo and CROP it as necessary. Why he was blogging naked is another question I suppose, but who among us can say they have never walked around the house naked for a bit on a weekend? The man just married a former cheerleader, it isn’t for me to question him. =)

Okay I read the D.C. Sports Blog comment about how this photo was supposedly accidentally posted and I don’t buy it. Seriously, this seems more like a practical joke by Chris Cooley on his brother (he didn’t think his brother would post it). But I don’t buy that it was an accident. If I had some embarasing photos of one of my brothers…. I’d post them as well… if they were really embarasing, Id say it was an accident and do it anyway.
