Colton Orr vs Mitch Fritz Hockey Fight, 12-29, Video
December 30th, 2008 | by Paneech |Colton vs and Mitch Fritz Hockey Fight, 12-29, Video. Goodness! After watching the softening NFL for 17 long weeks, I am almost insulted by such barbaric behavior. How dare a sanctioned sports league allow such poor sportsmanship? No wonder baseball doesn’t get the ratings anymore. Lou Duva and Emmannuel Steward can be spotted in the first row by the red line discussing which hockey player would be a better matchup for Evander Holyfield in July.
In all seriousness, I do not wish to encourage senseless violence in sport. However, while these two exchange fists, a couple of points become rather obvious to me. First off, they both seem to care about their teammates and have pride in their craft. We do not see this enthusiasm in sports much. Secondly, the average Joe fan watching on television will not fall asleep while this is happening. Finally, other sports should know that this sort of animosity generates ratings. The words horse collar, flagrant foul, and intentional hit batter have softened three sports already, hopefully hockey keeps it a true contest of athletes within the framework of what is and is not acceptable.
