Kevin Garnett, Jeter, Monty Python, Gatorade Commercial
February 3rd, 2009 | by Ethan Jaynes |Kevin Garnett, Derek Jeter, and Jimmy Johnson, Monty Python, Gatorade Commercial. KG, Jeter, and Jimmy Johnson are with the other knights of the round table, and they are on a “Quest for G“. The only thing that stands in their way is the great JabbaWockeez. This is oddly reminiscent of Monty Python’s Quest for the Holy Grail, and it is meant to be. When KG said ,”Dismount ( off of imaginary horses )”, I had to chuckle and I knew this commercial was a keeper.
The JabbaWockeez are just like the knights who say Ni, in the Monty Python flick. I am very surprised that Garnett did not have to find a … Shrubbery! ( I left the Monty Python vid below so you can compare.) The other things that have to be mentioned are that Garnett’s shades are something to behold, and the walking dancing head is Usain Bolt’s head. Do you know of any other stars in the vid?

That’s not the Knights who say Ni. It’s the Black Knight. You’re thinking of the wrong part of the movie.

The Jabberwockeez are a reference to Terry Gilliam’s movie Jabberwocky

I appreciate a nod to Monty Python any day. But this one just isn’t any good.

It was a poem by Lewis Carroll before it was a Gilliam movie.

Misses the whole point of the original…completely, totally and to the extent that I will never buy the product.
They probably spent more money on Jimmy Johnson’s hair than they did on the original movie.
Just another example of the complete lack of creativity on TV.
