Michael Jordan, Get Your Big Ears Back In The House With Your Mom. It was 16 years ago today, James Raymond Jordan, Sr. was killed in a robbery (July 31, 1936 July 23, 1993). This video lets us all see a glimpse of the man that Michael Jordan loved so much. When Michael Jordan cried on the floor after the 1996 NBA championship on Father’s Day, this is who he was thinking about.
Michael Jordan spent his whole career trying to make reasons to get fired up and beat his opponent. The 1996 championship was won for only one reason. He wanted to win it for his Dad. He laid on the basketball floor with millions of eyes watching him, and he hugged the basketball like he was hugging his Dad. It was one of the most genuine and touching moments I have ever seen (Included in the 2nd video below). Now that I have a son of my own, it hits home even more. That is why that is my favorite moment in sports history.
